Only 3000L of wine will be produced out of this single
vineyard Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyard face east,
receiving only morning sun. Every afternoon, during
summer, a cool Southern breeze, from the most Southern
point of Africa, cools down the vineyard. This influence
of nature insures a nice crisp, fruit driven and elegant
Sauvignon Blanc with good aging potential. Frikkie
van der Westhuizen planted this vineyard for the love
that he has for Sauvignon Blanc. The soil was originally
rocky and not fertile enough for the growth of Sauvignon
Blanc. The location was perfect. So he decided to
mix the soil with fertile sludge that he discovered
on the bottom of his dam, close by. This ensured a
well balance single vineyard for the production of
top quality wine. Lourens produced his firs maiden
Sauvignon Blanc in the 2007 vintage from this vineyard.
